Why on pre-order and not just released? Well, the big beast Amazon counts any pre-order sales as happening all on the release day, and that can do wonders for a chap’s book’s rankings on the day, mayhap putting the book on some “also bought” and “suggested” lists in a lot more folks’ browsers… Tis all terribly technical, unlike the book, which is just atom bombs and laughs… 🙂
